Information You Provide
Search requests
When a name, place, or other term is entered into a search feature, that query is transmitted to the third-party provider operating the feature. Washington County Busted Mugshots does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s own terms and privacy practices apply to that submission.
Messages
Messages sent through a contact channel, including an email address and the contents of the message, may be kept so that we can respond and maintain the correspondence. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the service.
Automatic Technical Information
Like most websites, the service and its service providers may receive limited technical information during a visit. This information helps operate the pages, identify errors, and understand broad usage patterns.
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring page, if one was supplied
- Date and time of the visit
Cookies
Cookies and similar browser tools may be used to measure visits and support site functions. A browser can be set to reject or remove cookies, although some features may then behave differently. Advertising or analytics partners may also use their own tools under their published policies.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate and improve the service, respond to messages, and route search activity to the provider that supplies the feature. It can also help identify technical faults, understand which Washington County record-reference pages are useful, and present advertising that may be relevant to a visitor.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the service
- Send a search request to the appropriate partner
- Review aggregate page use and diagnose errors
- Reply to visitor messages
- Support advertising and measurement functions
Official and Outside Links
Links may point to the Washington County Correctional Facility inmate search, the County Chief Clerk’s Right-to-Know route, and the Clerk of Courts, as well as to outside tools and advertising. Once a visitor follows a link, that destination controls its own data practices, availability, and content.
Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law governs public-record access through government agencies. It does not govern this private service’s privacy practices. Advertising partners may collect information across websites on their own systems to measure or personalize advertising, subject to their policies and available browser choices.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data as a separate product. Limited information can be provided to the following categories when needed to operate the service or comply with a lawful request:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site performance
- Advertising networks serving or measuring ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
Security Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet-connected system, transmission, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive details in a message unless they are necessary for the request.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not designed for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a minor. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor submitted personal information, contact us so the issue can be reviewed and the information deleted where appropriate.
Your Information Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification of the request, a visitor may ask to access personal information held through a direct message, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, or object to certain processing. Use Contact Us for a privacy request and identify the information at issue without including unnecessary sensitive details.
- Request a copy of information held from a direct contact
- Ask that inaccurate contact information be corrected
- Request deletion where retention is not required
- Object to or limit certain processing when applicable
